National Lutheran Schools Week Proclamation

Whereas, In grateful response to God's grace and empowered by the Holy Spirit through Word and Sacraments, the mission of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod is vigorously to make known the love of Christ by word and deed within our churches, communities, and the world, and,

Whereas, Congregations of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod carry out the One Mission of our Lord in many ways, including the very important ministry of making known the love of Christ through establishing and maintaining Lutheran schools, and,

Whereas, The 2400 Lutheran Early Childhood Centers, Elementary Schools, and High Schools of the LCMS are s erved by dedicated and caring teachers, who share the One Message of the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ on a daily basis, and,

Whereas,”Securing Each Child’s Future – For Eternity” based on John 3:16:  “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”(NIV) embraces the unity we receive as One People in Christ,

Therefore, be it   Resolved, That March 1-7, 2009, be officially proclaimed as National Lutheran Schools Week in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, with the prayer for God’s rich blessings on the educational ministries of our Synod, past, present and future.
